About the Quicken Loans Arena
Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena, often referred to as simply the "Q", opened in 1994. Originally called Gund Arena, after the former Cleveland Cavaliers owner, the 20,562-seat facility is home to the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team as well as the site of numerous concerts and other special events. The "Q" is also home to the Lake Erie Monsters hockey team and the Cleveland Gladiators Arena football team.
Quicken Loans Arena has 20,562 seats, 60 percent of which are located in the "lower bowl." The 750,000 arena is 480' long and 440' wide and boast 88 suites and a state-of-the-art 28' scoreboard.
There are currently two primary tenants that call Quicken Loans Arena home. They are the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA, and the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. In the past, the Cleveland Rockers of the WNBA, Cleveland Barons of the AHL, and Cleveland Lumberjacks of the IHL also used Quicken Loans Arena as their home venue.
In addition to the regular Cavaliers and Monsters games, Quicken Loans Arena also hosts other top notch events. For instance, the Mid American Conference men's and women's basketball tournaments are played at this arena each year. Additionally, Quicken Loans Arena is set to host the 2007 NCAA Women's Final Four.
Attending an event at Quicken Loans Arena is one of the city's highlights. If you are in Cleveland, make sure you have a chance to visit this venue!
